ETRI custom ventilation solutions are designed to meet the demanding requirements of defence, naval, and defense applications. Depending on the configuration, they can be developed to comply with various MIL standards, including solutions for turret ventilation, gun gas extraction, and the cooling of onboard equipment.

Rugged, reliable, and engineered for harsh environments, ETRI solutions support system integrators and OEMs in their most demanding projects. Many ETRI products also feature NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs), facilitating their identification and integration into defense programs.

Compact Axial and Centrifugal Fans

ETRI develops high-performance industrial ventilation solutions for cooling electronic equipment, electrical enclosures, and onboard systems. Our fan range meets the demanding requirements of the railway, aerospace, industrial, and data center sectors.

Axial Fans

Compact and high-performing, ETRI axial fans provide efficient cooling in confined spaces.

ETRI fan trays integrate multiple compact axial fans to optimize the cooling of electrical and electronic racks. Each solution is custom-designed to meet your installation constraints and airflow requirements.

AC Centrifugal Fans

ETRI AC centrifugal fans are designed for applications requiring high static pressure, particularly where filters or significant pressure losses are present.

Rugged and reliable, ETRI solutions deliver efficient thermal management in demanding industrial environments.

Thermal Management Solutions for Defense and Naval Applications

Defense and naval systems operate in some of the world's most demanding environments. Electronic control, detection, communication, and systems must remain fully operational under extreme mechanical, climatic, and electromagnetic conditions. ETRI designs custom ventilation and cooling solutions that ensure continuous, reliable performance in harsh environments as well as during storage, transport, and deployment.

  • Defence Qualifications and Compliance
    • NATO Codification (NSN): A wide range of our axial fans, centrifugal fans, and high-performance blowers are assigned NATO Stock Numbers (NSN), enabling seamless integration into international defense programs.
    • MIL-Spec compliance : On demand, designed to meet the environmental requirements of MIL-STD-810 (temperature, pressure, humidity, sand, corrosion, shock, and vibration) as well as onboard electrical standards such as MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-1399 for naval applications.

  • Extreme Mechanical and Environmental Resistance
    • Reinforced protection against severe mechanical shock (up to 30 g / 11 ms) and continuous harmonic vibration.
    • High ingress protection ratings up to IP65 or IP66, with tropicalization and fully sealed designs for harsh operating environments.
    • Extended operating temperature ranges, from -40°C to +85°C, and up to -55°C to +125°C for selected models, ensuring reliable operation in the most extreme theaters of operation.

  • Typical Defense Applications
    • Vehicles and tank turrets: Rapid extraction of gun gases and cooling of onboard electronic systems.
    • Defence radar systems and antennas: Forced-air cooling of antenna processors, transmit/receive equipment, and electronic racks for both ground-based and onboard radar systems.
    • Naval vessels and submarines: Cooling of instrumentation cabinets, propulsion control systems, and mission-critical electronics operating in highly corrosive marine environments.
    • Missile guidance systems, tactical shelters, and defence communication equipment: Reliable thermal management for critical electronic systems requiring maximum operational availability.
